Today's workout was a squat based workout.
Warm up:
goblet squats 3x8, baby makers 3x5 with a 3 second hold in the bottom, Hip, low back, and shoulder mobility work, rollout foot with lacross ball 2x30 seconds each foot
Workout:
High Bar Squat: 72.5% (190lbs) for 3x8 (sets then reps)
Front Squat: 135 x 10,10,10,9,9
Good Mornings: 135 x 10,10,10,9,9
Leg Raises: 12,12,12,12,11
Calf Raises: 250 x 10,10,10,10,10
I base my workout on the numbers set by the Juggernaut Training System. the accessory is what I've found works for me, and reps and weight that by the last set has me working the last few reps. really focusing on form right now, and dialing it in before heavier training comes into play.
The choices of front squats and good mornings is that of being lazy, but also what I find I can do on a squat day. Front squats really hit my quads and make my core work, and good morning tax my hammies and not a lot of weight is needed to accomplish that. that and iv found that SLDLs do not agree with my body on squat days.
Leg raises are in there for some core work that I enjoy doing because the give a good little challenge to eventually reach toes-to-bar with strict form.
Calf Raises... well I'm part of #Teamnocalves and that has to change!
