July 16, 2016, the date of my first powerlifting meet. I've decided to pick a meet that's 28 weeks away from next Monday because I'll really have time to dial everything in, and really have time to know what I'm able to do, as well as put on some much needed size, and follow a program consistently for an extended period of time.
The program that i'll be following is Chad Wesley Smith's Championship program available in his Juggernaut Training Method 2.0 A Thoughtful Pursuit of Strength. The set up will be four months of hypertrophy training, followed by two months of strength training, ending with one month of peaking for the meet. The reason for this breakdown is that I am an inexperienced lifter for where my numbers are, and there is some much needed size that I would like to add on. the strength months are obviously for what the training is called, My goals are to squat 405, bench 300, and deadlift 515 which would put my total at 1220, nothing amazing, but Its the goal that I have for 7 months from. This is gonna be one hell of an experience to go through, and something I think will really push me, that and I have a bet that involves buying dinner if I have a lower Wilks than my buddy. Ricky, Fuck you!
